A cardboard dice – on his sides are written the questions: Who? Where? Why? How? What? When?

Layout of the classroom

The desks at their normal position. Only one chair is in front of the blackboard.

Phase 1

The teacher, with the help of the students, made the cardboard dice the day before.

The teacher divides the class into 5 equal teams. Each team chooses their captain.

The teacher says, “Today we will travel in time. We will do it using the “Hot Chair of the time”.

 Phase 2

The captain of each team draws a ball with the name of the khan from the hat. The teams will be asked the questions about the management and personality of the downloaded ruler. Questions are asked by students from other teams.

Phase 3

First on the “Hot Chair of the time”, which is in front of the board sits the captain of each team. He reads aloud the name of the Bulgarian khan from the ball. Then he has to say a word symbol of the name of this ruler. / For example: Khan Krum – The Lawmaker, Khan Asparuh – The Founder, Khan Omurtag – The Builder, etc. /

The students from other teams throw a dice. They ask questions about the ruler’s governing and personality. The questions should start with the question mark from the dice that occurs at each throw. The students from each team answer to one question (a total of 4 questions per team – 1 per player).

Phase 4

The game ends when all the students of all teams were on the “Hot Chair of the time”.

What is the purpose of Khan Krum’s pursuit of the first written laws?

Where did Khan Krum defeat the Roman Emperor?

When does Khan Krum start his rule?

The questions can also be asked by the teacher if the students are struggling.
