A piece of chalk, jobs flashcards, picture flash cards and jobs name cards.

Phase 1

The teacher draws many squares on the ground to play a pelmanism game. Then explains the activity to the children. S/he divides the class into three or four groups. For each group the teacher will draw four pelmanism on the ground. S/he gives the students a set of picture cards and jobs card. The students will match the picture card and job card and place it in the square on the ground in a given time. The group with the highest number of correct matching cards is the winner.

 

Phase 2

For the second part of the lesson, each student is given a job card which is secret for the rest of the class and asked to mime the given job as if it is his or her job. The rest of the class try to guess the job and will take the picture of the job on the square and raise it. If the guess is correct the teacher will give the jobs name card to the student and pronounces it .Then the rest of the class repeats after the teacher by saying it loudly. It goes on until all the students mime their given jobs.

 

Phase 3

In the third part of the activity the students find out each student’s jobs. The teacher collects their jobs cards and shuffles them and gives each student a job card. The students this time stand up and move round the class asking ‘’What’s your job?’’ The student who is asked the question replies’’ I am a driver.’’
