“One day the giants came down from the mountains and attacked the humans. The humans prayed to Odin for help. Odin asked his wife Frigg if there is a chance they can help them.

– Their fate is not sealed! She told him. Send our two strongest warriors, Thor and Vidar, he said. The two warriors needed to travel to Midgard so they went down to Heimdall  and asked if they could use the rainbow bridge. Down at the Earth they fought back the giants to the mountains and saved the humans.

– Was it our evil brother, Loki who planned this? The two brothers asked each other. Back in Asgard they met Ty/Tyr,  who said that he already knew they would win the war towards the giants.

The two brothers went for dinner at their mother, Frigg  and father, Odin. In a cloud above Loki was looking down planning his next evil plan.

3rd Phase

The teacher divides the class into two groups. Each student has a partner. One person becomes A and the other one becomes B. The student who is A is a clay and the student who is B is an artist. Each artist imagines a God from the previous story and makes a sculpture from the clay.

Each student makes the sculpture and then all sculptures freeze. The artists explain their artwork to the other artists.

The roles swops. And the activity repeats. The teacher asks some questions to the students in order to distinguish the artworks.

Tips to the teacher:

The teacher can relate these Gods to today’s heros. And the teacher asks the students some questions:

– How would they help the human race. For example if there is a flood in the human’s land. How would you save them?

– How would they help for decreasing pollution, which is destroying earth?

4th Phase

At the end the exercise the Teacher lets everyone share what they would do for the earth if they where Gods and Heroes?
