Layout of the classroomThe class should be empty, but chairs and other objects should be available to create imaginary doors. |

Phase 1Firstly the teacher should explain the main rules about syllables and spelling. |

Phase 2Children write twice the alphabet on cardboards and everyone hang 2 letters on his/her neck with a string. The teacher suggests words that children have to compose, creating groups and using one of the letter they have. |

Phase 3Then the teacher tells this tale:I’m the guardian of the Kingdom of Words. Words can enter the Kingdom only through doors, but they have to divide themselves into groups: just 2 or 3 letters can enter at the same time. For this reason it’s important to divide words correctly. Wrongly divided words won’t have access to the Kingdom. |

Phase 4After this exercise made with body, children repeat the same game on their notebook. |
