Phase  3: gym

Phase 4: class room

Phase 1

Teacher introduces the argument  explaining how an object may look different if we change our point of observation . To help  children,  the teacher can find on the internet  pictures that show  how different can be any object if it’s seen  from different  perspectives.

Phase 2

The teacher shows some objects to the children and invites them to choose one for each. She asks  them to look at those objects from different points of view (from top, from a side, from the bottom) and then try to draw each perspective  on a sheet of paper. When each child has finished the job, the teacher collects the work.

Phase 3

The teacher accompanies  the children  to the gym.

With the beginning of music, children are free to move in space, paying attention to the various objects placed. The teacher, after a while, blocks the music, and the children stop at the place where they are. The teacher invites them to observe the object closest  to them, from a particular point of view (small objects can be taken in hand). When the music resumes, children return to space. The game can be repeated several times.

Phase 4

The teacher speaks with the children about the experience and together they decide where to hang the drawings made in phase2.
