Layout of the classroomPhase 1: the activity will be performed in the classroom. The children will be divided into 2 groups (common nouns and proper nouns).Phase 2-3: the activity will be performed in the gym/school yard.Phase 4: the activity will be performed in the classroom again. |

Phase 1The teacher introduces the topic and explains the children the difference between common and proper nouns, giving them examples. |

Phase 2The children are divided into 2 groups: the first will work on common nouns, the latter on proper nouns. They have to think about examples of common and proper nouns and write them down on sheets (at least one for each child). Then the teacher collects the notes. |

Phase 3The teacher explains the game in the gym. Each child is provided with a note (collected in the previous phase). The gym is divided into 2 parts: the common nouns area and the proper nouns area.The children walk freely listening to the rhythm of the music. When the music stops, the children have to run to the right area for the noun written on their notes.After this, new categories can be added (animal common nouns, people common nouns, objects common nouns,…). |

Phase 4The teacher discusses the activity with the children. They create a billboard with the used nouns. |
